Layering that actually works

Two rules do most of the work:

  1. Differ in length by at least 5 cm. Two chains at similar lengths tangle around each other all day and read as indecision rather than styling.
  2. Differ in weight. A fine chain with a slightly heavier one creates contrast; two identical-weight chains just look doubled.

Three chains is the practical maximum before tangling becomes a daily irritation.
